It is supposed to be a potential predictor of cardiovascular complications in patients receiving adjuvant and neoadjuvant chemotherapy.</p> <p><bold>Aim:</bold> To estimate the prevalence of endothelial dysfunction in solid cancer patients compared to that in individuals without any malignancies.</p> <p><bold>Materials and methods:</bold> This observational study included 74 patients with solid malignancies, mostly gastrointestinal. Prior to polychemotherapy, all patients were examined for endothelial function of small and large arteries (AngioScan-01, Fiton, Russia) and peripheral artery stiffness (pulse wave contour analysis and occlusion test). The results were compared with those of the Russian population trials of endothelial dysfunction – Meridian-RO (Ryazan region) and trial in the rural population of the Krasnodar region.</p> <p><bold>Results:</bold> Compromised vasodilation and smaller arteries tone were found in 64.9% (48/74) of the cancer patients, while impaired vasodilation of larger muscular arteries was present in 94.6% (70/74) of the patients. According to the Meridian-RO trial in the Ryazan region, endothelial dysfunction had been found in 51.2% (n = 341) of women and 52.4% (n = 300) of men, whereas the Krasnodar regional population data had shown it in 68.4% (n = 353) of women and 71.7% (n = 253) of men.</p> <p><bold>Conclusion:</bold> The prevalence of endothelial dysfunction in the patients with solid malignancies, who have not undergone any chemo- or radiation therapy, is significantly higher than in the population of comparable age, conventional cardiovascular risk factors, and comorbidities. No significant increase of vascular stiffness was identified.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Обоснование.</bold> Одним из ранних маркеров патологии сердечно-сосудистой системы признана эндотелиальная дисфункция. Предположительно, ее наличие может быть предиктором сердечно-сосудистых осложнений у онкологических пациентов, получающих адъювантную и неоадъювантную химиотерапию.</p> <p><bold>Цель</bold> – выявить частоту эндотелиальной дисфункции у больных солидными опухолями по сравнению с людьми, не имеющими злокачественных новообразований.</p> <p><bold>Материал и методы.</bold> В обсервационное исследование включено 74 пациента с солидными злокачественными новообразованиями, среди которых преобладали опухоли желудочно-кишечного тракта. У всех пациентов до начала полихимиотерапии с помощью прибора «АнгиоСкан-01» («Фитон», Россия) исследованы показатели функции эндотелия мелких и крупных артерий, а также жесткости периферических артерий по данным контурного анализа пульсовой волны и окклюзионной пробы. Полученные результаты сопоставлены с данными российских популяционных исследований эндотелиальной дисфункции – «Меридиан-РО» (Рязанская область) и сельского населения Краснодарского края.</p> <p><bold>Результаты.</bold> Признаки нарушения вазодилатации и тонуса мелких артерий обнаружены у 64,9% (48 из 74) онкологических пациентов, а нарушения вазодилатации в крупных артериях мышечного типа – у 94,6% (70 из 74). По данным исследования населения Рязанской области «Меридиан-РО» эндотелиальная дисфункция выявлена у 51,2% (n = 341) женщин и 52,4% (n = 300) мужчин, а по данным исследования в Краснодарском крае – у 68,4% (n = 353) женщин и 71,7% (n = 253) мужчин.</p> <p><bold>Заключение.</bold> Частота эндотелиальной дисфункции у пациентов с солидными злокачественными новообразованиями, не получавших химио- и лучевой терапии, значительно выше, чем в популяции, сравнимой по возрасту, традиционным факторам риска сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний и коморбидным состояниям.
